Basketball extensions
Opt in to additional NBA and KBL data while retaining existing response contracts.
Basketball extensions expose additional data through new endpoints. Existing endpoints keep their default responses. Availability depends on league, season, source coverage and enrichment rollout; a documented field is not a guarantee of populated data.
Use /v1/nba/games/{id}/extended or /v1/kbl/games/{id}/extended for metadata, officials, participation and extended box counts. NBA adds normalized events and shot qualifiers; KBL adds coaches, broadcast labels and explicitly provider-reported advanced values. The new /games/{id}/team-stats routes serve basketball team statistics.
NBA player season statistics are available at /v1/nba/players/{id}/season-stats?season=2025. For KBL, explicitly request /v1/kbl/players/{id}/season-stats?season=2025&include=extended. Omit include to keep the existing KBL response and behavior. Seasons use their starting year: 2025 means 2025–26.
The new season views aggregate observed finalized games using actual appearances. Choose game_type explicitly when requesting a scope other than regular season. Percentages are fractions calculated from totals, and TS uses a disclosed free-throw coefficient of 0.44. Missing inputs and zero denominators return null. Team splits remain separate from player season totals. Check coverage before treating the observed sample as a complete season; season highs and double/triple-double counts remain null when schedule, identity or participation coverage is incomplete.
The separate /v1/nba/season-leaders/extended and /v1/kbl/season-leaders/extended routes expose ranks and tied counts. Ties are counted before limiting the result. Official qualification is unknown and returned as null.
Team, player and standings /extended resources expose only verified available fields. NBA profiles are current observations, not historical biographies. KBL profile and postseason enrichments remain conditional. Unknown on-court status, related players and event classifications stay null. Original KBL advanced abbreviations retain provider units; poss and per must not be interpreted as normalized possession counts or verified Hollinger PER.
Extended responses use private, no-store; they do not reuse legacy cached responses. They do not change existing injury status, rebound totals, games-back fields, birth dates, units, identifiers or legacy calculations.
