Teams, Players & Rosters

Get team by ID

Returns one team record directly under data (not data.items). Its team fields are the same as a team-directory entry; this is an ID lookup, not an expanded roster/statistics response. Use ?provenance=true to request stored field-source metadata under _meta.provenance. Use the roster, injuries, season-stat, or sport-specific team routes for those additional datasets. See choosing a team endpoint.

Requires the odds entitlement (a paid plan). See Responses & Errors for the success envelope and availability rules.

idstringrequired

Query Parameters

provenancebooleandefault:false

Opt in to per-field provenance on supported single game, match, team, player, and venue reads. Lists and composites accept the flag but generally omit provenance. It is returned under _meta.provenance only when source metadata exists.

Response

application/json

One team record under data, using the same sport-specific fields as a directory item, plus optional _meta.provenance when requested. logo_url is materialized when an asset can be resolved; optional fields depend on the source.

dataobjectrequired

Team identity and display record. The league team directory returns these fields inside data.items[]; get-team returns one record directly under data. The single-team lookup does not add a roster or season-stat block. Fields vary by sport and source and can be omitted when unavailable.

data.idstring

Opaque team identifier. Reuse the returned ID in team paths; do not construct one from a name or abbreviation.

data.canonical_idstring

Canonical identity for this team, when exposed. Can match id; it is not an upstream provider ID.

data.external_idsobject

Map from the exact stored source/namespace key to that provider's identifier for this entity. Keys vary by entity and league. Values are strings, even when the provider ID looks numeric. Use the exact key and value for external-ID lookups; these are distinct from the canonical ID. SOURCE_KEY below is an illustrative placeholder.

data.external_ids.{key}string
data.created_atstring<date-time>

Canonical document creation timestamp, when present; not the scheduled start or event time.

data.updated_atstring<date-time>

Canonical document update timestamp, when present. It is not a guarantee that every field was refreshed at this time; field provenance carries individual ingestion times.

data.abbreviationstring

Short team code supplied by the source. Use id for lookups; abbreviations are display labels.

data.namestring

Source-supplied base team name. It may be a nickname or common label rather than the full display name.

data.team_namestring

Team-name component supplied by the source, when available. May overlap with name or full_name.

data.full_namestring

Full team display name supplied by the source, when available.

data.short_namestring

Short display label supplied by the source, when available; not necessarily the abbreviation.

data.korean_namestring

Korean short/common team name, when supplied by this projection.

data.korean_full_namestring

Korean full team name, when supplied by this projection.

data.logo_asset_keystring

Stored asset key, when available. Prefer the materialized URL field for display instead of constructing a storage URL.

data.official_logo_urlstring

Stored official/provider logo URL, when available. May differ from the materialized logo_url; source and league determine availability.

data.activeboolean

Source-supplied active flag. Omission means the flag is unavailable; it must not be treated as false.

data.logo_urlstring

Materialized logo URL for display, when resolvable. Omitted when no usable logo is available; use a UI fallback.

_metaobject

Response request/cache metadata. Optional evidence fields are specific to this handler; cache TTL does not measure source-data freshness.

_meta.request_idstring
_meta.served_fromenum<string>

Available options: live, cache

_meta.cache_ttl_secondsinteger

Response cache TTL; independent of source freshness. Omitted when zero.

_meta.provenanceobject

Map keyed by canonical source field name. Each value identifies the winning source, ingestion run, and ingestion timestamp for that field. Keys can use the stored camelCase field name even when the response uses snake_case.

_meta.provenance.{key}object
_meta.provenance.{key}.sourcestring
_meta.provenance.{key}.run_idstring
_meta.provenance.{key}.ingested_atstring<date-time>
